- Treatment follows Flora of Virginia and Flora of the Southeastern U.S. in including Nuttalanthus in Linaria, based on recent phylogenetic studies. Of note is the fact that in the study by Ogutcen & Varnosi (2016, Amer. J. Bot. 103: 1071-1081), although Nuttallanthus separated from Linaria some millions of years ago, it is nevertheless nested within the other Linaria clades.
