Comments
Past interpretations of the area's three yellow-flowered Oxalis spp. have varied widely because of confusion about the application of the name Oxalis stricta and widespread lumping of O. dillenii and O. florida. Nesom's interpretation in FNA12 is followed here and by Weakley et al. (2023) and Flora of Virginia. See the Comments under O. stricta for further details.
Habitat
Mostly weedy in old fields, meadows, pastures, roadsides, farm yards, and lawns; occasionally in disturbed bottomland and upland forests. Apparently common throughout.
