- Four Virginia collections of this European introduction have been seen, three of them from roadsides in Burkes Garden (Tazewell County), the fourth in Fairfax County. The species is common and weedy in northern North America, but rarely found as far south as Virginia and West Virginia.
- Habitat
- Moist roadsides in Tazewell County (Ridge and Valley province); in tidal freshwater marsh in eastern Fairfax County (northern Coastal Plain). A rare introduction in Virginia.
