- Reported as an escape from cultivation in several northeastern states. Potentially invasive.
- Habitat
- Reported by Steury (Banisteria 37, 2011) from "beech woods along Little Hunting Creek" near Mount Vernon, Fairfax County; more recently found to be a locally common escape in mature forest understories at Fort Belvoir, Fairfax County, and at Barcroft Park, Arlington County.
