Comments
This blue-flowered Agastache is widely available in the nursery trade and is not uncommonly used as an ornamental in Virginia. In its native Korea, it is commonly grown for culinary and medicinal properties. Observations to date, although few, suggest that this species is very capable of spreading by seed and establishing away from plantings. To what degree it might become naturalized remains to be seen.
Our specimens were determined by Derick Poindexter (NCU).
Habitat
Large colony on a forested roadbank on Shenandoah Mountain (Rockingham Co.), in a remote section of the George Washington National Forest (Fleming 15707 and Huber, 1 Aug. 2012); also spreading from plantings into fencrows and old field in Fluvanna Co.
Native Status
Introduced
