- Recent collections of overwintering specimens of this species suggest that it could become more widely established in Virginia. Further south, this Asian fern is rampantly invasive, climbing into the canopy of swamp forests and smothering lower vegetation.
- Habitat
- Spontaneous in cultivated bed near Herndon, Fairfax County; spreading vigorously in forested yard near the James River, City of Richmond. Not planted in either location.
