 - A Southeastern species, similar to Scleria triglomerata but with narrower leaves, pubescent sheaths, and slightly larger achenes. It is apparently always a plant of dry habitats, never in wetlands. Its status in Virginia is poorly known, as most previous floristic studies have lumped it under S. triglomerata.
