- A widely scattered weed in Virginia, at least some of the populations likely representing cultivated escapes. Native of Eurasia, now widely distributed as a weed. The plant has been used extensively in herbal medicine, primarily in Europe.
- Habitat
- Virginia collections came from “open woods,” a “sandy ditch,” forest borders, a vacant lot, and sidewalk cracks. Rare, but perhaps very locally established.
