- A weedy Ipomoea first vouchered by Maeve Coker in 2024 but also documented by 85 iNaturalist sightings from 26 counties throughout the state, especially in urban or developed areas. All the iNaturalist postings are from the last five years, suggesting that this species has only recently established in Virginia and is spreading very rapidly. Ipomoea triloba is native to the tropics and now found as a weed throughout the southeastern U.S. It is very similar to I. lacunosa but has pink flowers with dark red centers.
