- Habitat
- Acidic alluvial swamps, nonriverine swamps, wet flatwoods, seepage swamps, bogs, fens, depression ponds, tidal and maritime swamps; less commonly in mesic to dry, acidic upland forests. Common in the Coastal Plain; frequent in the Piedmont; infrequent to rare in the mountains.
