- Known only from the sandhill region in the vicinity of South Quay. Reported as new to Virginia in Castanea 69:144 (2004).
- Habitat
- Sandhill woodlands and clearings in areas formerly occupied by Longleaf Pine. Rare, s. Coastal Plain, known only from Southampton County and the city of Suffolk.
