Dichanthelium longiligulatum (Nash) Freckmann
Dichanthelium longiligulatum has not been separately recognized in most Virginia studies, and its distribution and status are incompletely known. In addition, this taxon, D. spretum, and D. acuminatum var. lindheimeri are very similar morphologically and can be quite difficult to separate.
Depression swamps and ponds, old millpond shores, floodplain sloughs, and other open, mostly seasonally flooded wetlands. Apparently infrequent and local in the s. Coastal Plain, rare in the Piedmont, and disjunct to Augusta County in the Ridge and Valley province.
