 - A recent specimen from Rocky Mount (Franklin County) collected by Gerald Pottern. Another from Frederick County was collected by Woodward Bousquet.
 - Habitat
 - Disturbed forests, roadside thickets. Rare, known only from Albemarle, Franklin, and Frederick counties. This introduced buckthorn is highly invasive in the Northeast and Midwest.
