- Map very incomplete at this time. This species was not recognized in Atlas III, but probably occurs in every Virginia Coastal Plain county. Extensive herbarium and field work will be required to map it.
- Habitat
- Well-drained floodplain forests, alluvial swamps, wet flatwoods, depression ponds, low mesic upland and maritime forests. Frequent to common in the Coastal Plain; rare in the extreme e. Piedmont.
