- The current map is very incomplete. This small, slender Dichanthelium has no doubt been widely overlooked and under-documented. Recent collections have documented it in numerous counties.
- Habitat
- Dry or sandy open forests, clearings, and seasonally exposed shores. Apparently frequent in the Coastal Plain in the Coastal Plain and Piedmont; very few collections from the mountains to date.
