- Known from only a single specimen on which the stamen number is difficult to determine. The specimens citation is: "In dry soil of clearing, east side of Co Rte 609 near bridge over Chickahominy River." Leaves are thinly pubescent above and below and stipitate glandular on the petioles. Young stems, inflorescence branches, and pomes are also pubescent.
- Habitat
- Our only specimen is from a dry clearing. At its type locality in Madison Co., NC, the habitat is described as bluffs and banks of the French Broad River.
