Tilia cordata is a native of Europe that is frequently planted and occasionally escaped in northern North America. To date, in Virginia it has only been documented in the D.C. area suburbs of northern Virginia. See Wright et al. (2023) in Castanea 88 (1): 61-78 for further information about these occurrences.
Habitat
An occasional escape in urban/suburban woodlands in northern Virginia (Arlington and Fairfax counties).
