- This generally pubescent variety is associated with xeric limestone sites in western Virginia. The map is no doubt very incomplete until herbarium work is undertaken to sort out infraspecific taxa in Toxicodendron radicans.

- Xeric limestone woodlands, barrens, outcrops, and clearings. Infrequent in the mountains.
